Me and Kayley-Stop frame outside college
This was took outside of college, Me and Kayley both start behind the trees so we are purposely unseen. We meet in the middle using the stop frame to capture our legs and separate movements till we come together.
When we arrive in the middle we link arms with each other and rotate in a circle then when we are on the opposite side of each other we walk away back into the trees on the opposite side as before.
We decided to appear from the trees because the different musical tones and the final music I placed in the background with each step we took we wanted it to match the music and so walking towards each other was an initial idea, then we thought instead of just walking towards each other if we appeared from an object it would look more interesting.
I think the music what I put in the background goes well with the stop frame video because with the speed applied it matches with the steps we both take to each other.
I think that the camera angle what we chose was not so good because its favoured and slightly behind one side of the trees, I think if we had positioned it in between both trees straight on it would have looked better as we might not have seen the trees but the stop frame would just show me and Kayley walking towards the middle. We couldn't use the camera under the trees because when taking the pictures one after another, the area was under the tree shadows so there was not enough exposure to light.
If I was to do this differently next time I would place the camera under the trees in the center of the two trees we used because the angle would look better. I would also try and create more light in the shot by adding additional light if possible, if not I would shoot it in the light on the outer side of the trees collecting the light.
George Swimming.
This is George who was given an blue sheet of material over him with two people holding it at either end, there was a red piece of material also on the back to create the sky. Two girls from the side were waving the blue material to look like moving waves then George got into position every photo he would move his arms to create a swimming look. I chose the music in the background because I wanted
to have a song which described somebody swimming which would relate to george.
Screen Grab of Music Added.
This is a screen grab of me changing the length of the music. When I first uploaded the music to the video it started with an introduction which lasted a few seconds then started lyrics. With my video of george because we had to speed it up so it does not look slow, we had to skip the first part of the introduction and move straight onto the lyrics which would work with what the video was about. EG. the lyrics were about swimming in the ocean moving your arms which george was doing.
Duration fault screen Grab Continued.
When I made the stop frame I wrongly pressed a button which duplicated the pictures into four of the same ones.. With the help of Steve I had to go to the duration option and change the timer to 1 second which separated the pictures back into one picture per second.
This improved my stop frame because if I had kept the frames how it was before I used the duration modifier the picture would repeat itself four times which would automatically make the stop motion slower; so changing the duration to 1 second shortened the length of the stop motion instantly by making each frame shorter to one picture instead of four.
Duration fault screen Grab
Before I was to import the music, My frame duration turned to 4 seconds which meant it repeated it 4 times instead of one. It was not smooth running, so we changed the duration to one second which changed the frame to one frame per second.
Screen Grab.
This is a screen grab what was took of George Swimming, i have also added a music song into the background which is on another screen grab.

Third Attempt.
I think we could have improved this by moving the skateboard lower to the pipe to make it more realistic because when we were taking pictures of the skateboard it was in mid air so it would look better if it was actually on the pipe instead of "floating".
I also think that if he moved his arms in a more flowing way it would look like he's actually slightly skating as well, this can include his knees moving lower and holding the skateboard for when it goes in the air so he's holding the skateboard as it flips in the air.
Second Attempt.
For our second try at making a stop frame motion picture, we placed samantha on a Grey material for the pavement and placed a blue sheet above which was the sky, A yellow ball for the sun which moved from left to right with help from others to look like it what moving in and out of the clouds which were used as white cloths moving right to left and vice versa to create a surreal scene.
The group helped samantha move with the suitcase in small movements because the suitcase was heavy to move and because she was swinging the suitcase like you'd do in the street our group had to move it to different positions bit by bit so it looked realistic when she was walking also.

My first stop motion video. ( Picture and video to be uploaded next wedesday)
Today we were sent outside to take photo's to produce a stop motion video. In this instance Emily took photo's of me and Kayley walking towards eachother from the trees which turned into a minature dance when we met in the middle, we then walked past each other to return in each other origional positions which looked effective. I will also download a song to the mac computer to add into the video for the background. I will choose Meet In the Middle as it links in with the song, as the Me and Kayley are walking towards the Middle of the trees.
